Question about Windows MovieMaker
I'm working on a group project and have put together a program using MovieMaker. However, when I try to email it to the group, they can't open the file. I initially emailed it using Windows XP. No luck. So I re-did it on my laptop which uses Vista (and made it even better incidentally) and tried mailing it from there. Still no luck.

I tried to download the file from my email on my husband's computer which has the same version of Vista as my laptop and got the message "this project is currently in use by another program" which it was not, having never been on his computer.

Does any of this make sense and does anyone have any advice about how to email this? I also downloaded it to a flash drive but when my group tried to put it in their computers, it came through without the photos. I can always send them the photos but there's got to be an easier way. Oh, and it wouldn't copy onto a disk. :banghead:

1. Do the group members need to modify it at all?
If you're the one doing the video and they don't need to add anything to it, then I'd render it out to a video format of some kind and send that, rather than sending the Windows MovieMaker file.

2. Well, I was hoping one of them could add music
I don't have anything suitable and a couple of them seem more technologically savvy in that regard (in any regard, for that matter as evidenced by the fact that I can't even send the darn thing!).

I just hoped there'd be an easy fix. :hi:

4. Hmm. Not seeing anything for exporting the files.
Then again, if they have Movie Maker too, then they can just add an audio track to the video you make with it. :P So rendering it would probably work for that too.

5. I know.....
If you are using the older version or the free one from Microsoft this is the procedure.........

After you complete your project you must "Finish the Movie" and save it to your computer. This is different from just going to file "save as". In the left column in Movie Maker you will see a category called "Finish Movie"..........select "Save to my computer" and follow the steps.

The reason why the pics don't show up is because your project is married to the location of your original photos. It won't open on someone elses computer...........you must "finish movie".
