Or, for our lovely out-of-country DUers, from what region of YOUR country do you hail?

Born and bred Northern New Englander here. :)

7. I'm a midwesterner, but I'm also a natural mimic.
When I'm talking to someone with an accent, I tend to reply to them in a similar fashion. I don't do it purposefully, but sometimes it just comes out.

Had I realized this 20 years ago, I'd have studied to be a dialect coach.

20. Richie you magnificent ex-pat bastard, you!
:pals: How are ya, darlin'? I'm having a mellow Saturday evening, surrounded by my two daughters and a glass or three of wine.

Oh, and I'm also surrounded by critters. The ex-SO is having his left knee replaced on Monday, so I am "babysitting" his dog and bunny rabbit. Critter total at Bunny Manor is now up to three (3) dogs, two (2) cats, and one (1) adorable little lop-eared bunny. Pray for me.

I've missed ya around here lately :pals:

We've had a quiet day here at the Lone Star Estate as well. Everyone's exhausted. I volunteered for laundry duty because it's at the other end of the house and it gives me plenty of time during wash and dry cycles to slack off on DU and the other internets. :D

31. Michigan
I've lived other places, most notably Chicago and Los Angeles, each for several years. My brother who lives in Michigan came to visit me last month in England, where I live now, and someone said that he and I have totally different accents. I always assumed that I had the same accent as always, but I guess it's changed - not to an English accent in anyway, but maybe just generic North American. Lots of people think I'm Canadian by my accent.
