Anyone know about dental insurance?
I am about to gripe to our dental provider...Twice my son has had some dental surgery, one to repair a chipped molar and the second to seal them. The insurance refuses to pay for the anaesthesia. Shit, after the second surgery, he was in pain for a day or so, I can't imagine what I would have done if he couldn't have had the anaesthesia.

I can afford to pay it, but it just doesn't seem right working on teeth is not what I call a pain-free cakewalk.

they are trying to get over

on edit: this is a symptom of a bigger problem. I have a living will right now(I carry it everywhere I go) and should I get a broken leg, broken arm or severed limb, I will refuse care and I will die where I lay.

4. Appeal it both through traditional methods and through the media.
Of course, go throught the normal appeals process with the company.

However, IMHO, this is a public interest story begging to be let out of the insurance closet. I mean, Anasthesia *is* medically necessary. I don't know how old your son is- if he's young, this is one of those situations where public shame can do wonders. If he's not young, it doesn't matter... Go BIG. Call the press. See if you can find others who haven't gotten service from that same provider.

I know all too well that getting these companies to pay is not fun. However, when you get the check in the mail that finally pays for the disputed service, you feel SO good about what you've done. IMO, this is an incredibly satisfying feeling!!!

6. Update: I did enlist some "help"
Today, I called the insurance company, and I got ticked off really quick when the claims talking head went and said, this is difficult to explain...and I said (in a very irritated voice)..."no it's not difficult to explain, I have a medical background and you need to explain this to me"...

Check this out, the talking head said the only anesthesia that would be covered are those to make the patient unconscious and insensitive to pain - WTF? That is fricking overkill and the most expensive treatment.

For goodness sake, this is a kid only 6 YO! We were denied payment on anesthesia when he got one of those molars filled.

Let's say I did enlist "some help" to investigate and I will take WDS to task.

5. Health Insurance Companies are now the new Nazi's..

We are living through The Corporation's health experiment.
If you give this a thought and realize how they decide to give care, not to give care. How they charge you for care.
How the Insurance companies decide on the pain you will live with and die with. It has become slow death for all of us.
The psychopaths have taken over a humanitarian organization and right for all people for their health and well being.
Send congress your bills and write a letter telling them how the insurance company will not pay for pain relief for your son.
These are atrocities committed by the few and it's only going to get worse. Send off the bills and let them know.
