1. a while back on NPR
Sedaris had a story about someone who went to stay with a friend. As I recall, she knew her friend didn't cook a lot, so she turned on the oven to pre-heat while she mixed up brownie mix. When she opened the door to the oven, she had melted all of her DVDs.. Now that's a militant non-cooker.

2. Dibs!
I love lemon + poppy seed together. Ever made the lemon-poppy seed wafer recipe in Joy of Cooking? Yum.

4. i'll look that one up, sounds good. I ended buying some Cinnamon strusel quick bread mix
it's in the oven right now. I can't wait until the house starts smelling like the bread.

6. I hear ya, girlfriend. You really get used to those appliances.
When my dryer was on the fritz for a week, I thought I'd lose my mind. No laudromats anywhere near here. I was hanging wet laundry up everywhere and schlepping to my friend's house.

Glad you got it.

10. here it is, it's a Bosch gas range, the microwave still isn't here but that's ok, it will
be in next week. Anyhow the trial run went well and it heats up much faster than the old stove.

:hi:

14. good looking equipment. We are planning on a new stove sometime
in the next few months. Replacing a wall oven/cooktop with a 30" 2 oven range, dual fuel. GAs cooktop and electric ovens, one convection. Got to get the cabinets priced and ready to install before we order the stove though. Had a cabinet maker in for estimate last night.

Congratulations on the stove though. I know you are enjoying it.

I am LOVING my new refrigerator and dishwasher. One good thing, they will be paid for by the time we start the rest of the project

15. please post a pic when you do please, i would have loved a dual fuel but i had to have
yest another electrical line run and by the time i was done it was just too much money for me seeing as i don't cook a lot, if i did though i would have just sucked it up and bought the dual fuel. I can't wait to try out the convection part of the range, i'm thinking maybe tomorrow.
