I am a good bureaucrat apparently
So where I work is a tightly regulated environment which involves a lot of detailed paperwork for regulatory affairs/records.
I apparantly am the *best* in the department in filling out my paperwork correctly and knowing all the little ins and outs of the government rules and regulations..So much so that I am now helping train the new people (including the scientists and I'm only a tech, really) on the correct way and rules for keeping their records in order!
And recently a coworker told me I was the quickest in learning how to do the paperwork the best.
Oh well, its good to be good at something..even if its not the ultra glorious good at the actual science stuff.
Hooray for being anal retentive and detail oriented!:woohoo:

2. Despite what the Republicans think, bureaucrats are needed and can do a lot of good.
Thank you.

3. Might want to amend that to say 'good bureaucrats'. :P
We don't need more of the crappy ones.

4. I suggest a coup d'état
train the new folks, yes.

do the paperwork, yes.

Save one or two secret details for yourself so you can take over the joint.

When they swap you around and find that they cannot make things run as smooth as you do get a raise :P

Good job!

I'm already pretty valuable..You should hear the "guilt trip" being laid on me by some of my coworkers cause I'm taking three days off for vacation this month...He wanted to know why I couldn't take my vacation in December..I told him "Umm..it would be a little cold for the beach then..."

7. I put booze on a shelf
Apparently, I am the best booze-putter-on-shelf in 3 counties (or something). My liquor department has been described as the best in the district. If there were an Olympic event for putting booze on shelves, I would win the gold medal. :eyes:

As you say, it's nice to be good at something but its not really what I ever envisioned on my tombstone. ~sigh~

"She stocked a helluva liquor department"

Yeah...go figure. I go to college for 6 years, get a B.A. in political theory* with a focus on cultural studies and poli. comm., minors in English and art, and have more certs and trainings in non-profits than anybody should ever have. So what is my great talent in life?

I have a sensitive sense of taste and an acute nose for aroma. If I'd known that 10 years ago, I could have blown-off college.

BTW: This needs its' own "What is your not-what-I-really-wanted talent?" thread.

*-Theory means I don't actually know how they system works but I totally get why it doesn't work.
