Some folks don't really like it all that much.

That's all, folks.

2. What? Until you guys come up with a better term than "guys" for a mixed gender group, I'm stuck...

with "you folks" which sounds kind of Southern, and is perhaps better than "y'all"!

Cordially -- and with pleasure, you guys (and gals),

4. How about "my friends"?
it works for John McCain.

er, actually, it probably won't do him all that much good.

Anyway, "you folks" is plural. "y'all" is singular. "all y'all" is plural. Jes' tryin' t' hep, y'all.

:hi:

5. I use "you guys" even if I'm talking to a group of women
I wonder if that's a regional thing. I know I've seen women upset by being called "guys" but it's the vernacular of where I was raised. Otoh, I think "gals" is kind of demeaning. It's kind of silly that I'm okay with guys but not gals. Language is just weird.

6. Yeah, that's my point. Once in a while, when faced with yet another "guys" remark,
I grab my breasts, push them together to achieve my very best 69 year old cleavage, and exclaim loudly,

"DO YOU SEE THESE? IF SO, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ABOUT HALF OF US ARE NOT GUYS."

It works.

Warm regards,

Lady Ellen of Alpen Knolls
