Not so much from the second, but if you've been to Kitt Peak, it's pretty hard to miss.

7. Is that the infamous "Doomsday machine" I've been reading a little about recently?
The one that could supposedly create a black hole which would swallow up the Earth and everything else within its gravitational field?

9. Yeah, the LHC
Based on our current understanding of physics, micro black holes are unstable so there's nothing to worry about. And if it turns out that they can exist and begin to eat the earth, well then we would have learned something, right? :)

I've seen those, but not in many years!

My husband has always been interested in astronomy, and we've visited several planetariums...

And observatories!

The solar instruments are fascinating!
