Gone Baby Gone
What an amazing movie! I cannot believe that Ed Harris and Casey Affleck didn't recieve any Oscar Nominations and that the movie wasn't nominated for any Oscar or Golden Globe awards other than best supporting actress. In my opinion Gone Baby Gone is a far better movie than No Country for Old Men(though I loved both movies).

If you haven't seen it, see it!

1. A great film, Ava
I wouldn't rate as high as "NCFOM", but very good.

Have you seen "There Will Be Blood", Daniel Day Lewis?

*Highly* reckied!

2. There Will Be Blood was well acted and directed
much of the plot bored me though. There were some great scenes in the plot, but the rest just seemed to kind of be out of place. That's just my opinion though. I thought the acting by Daniel Day Lewis was phenominal as was the acting by the guy who played the twin brothers. i was shocked that he didn't get nominated for best supporting actor with his role as the young pastor. he did a really great job with that.

3. Indeed
fascinating character study.

Must be challenging/interesting to do that kind of role.

4. I loved There Will Be Blood, but...
I found out recently that it loses a lot of the socialist intent of the book. I totally picked up a critique of capitalism from it, but I haven't read the book, so I'm not sure exactly how it differs. I really wanna read it now.

5. One of my favorites of the more recent releases.
The moral ambiguities are stunning and thought-provoking.

And I agree - it's way better than NCFOM, and I liked that one, too. :hi:

9. It is a very good film. It got good reveiws when it was released but it wasn't promoted well
Ben Affleck did a great job directing it, the writing and acting were incredible, and even the score was great.
