My 3 days at Lollapalooza, with PICS
Lollapalooza was held in Chicago...again. I hope Perry and his fest has found a home because I had a total blast. I bought a 3 day pass for $200.00, mainly for Rage Against the Machine....but it was all good. Radio Head played as did Kanye West.

Welcome to Chicago, first we go under the Post Office, then under the Chicago Stock Exchange...

The fest was held in Grant Park ...a smaller version of Central Park ...but had no problem holding 100,000 people. Sorry for that damn blue van in the middle of my pic.

For those who don't know about Lolla...let me explain. Perry Ferrel, singer of Janes Addiction started this fest years ago ...Today it lives in Chicago. Basically it's 3 days of bands performing on a number of stages, Perry appeared on the kids stage with special guest Slash (Guns n Roses) ...they did a kind of 'School of Rock' thing with kids at the instruments. Here they are.

Blues Travelers also performed, here they are ...

Nine Inch Nails was one of the headliners ..a very strange show.

How about Lupe Fiasco ? ..a Chicago rapper. The guy did a damn back flip on stage

And of Course Rage played, I had to apologize to my wife for getting her that close to the stage, when the first song started the whole place went friggin nuts ..I have to been to many shows, Slayer, DRI, Suicidal Tendencies, Moterhead ...ect.. But I have never been in the shit like I found myself at the Rage show, as it turned out, my wife had a blast ..The singer from Rage, Zach De La Rocha had to stop the show 3 times because it was getting out of control, I took one pic that sucked ..it was just impossible to use a camera. Here is video of the show being stopped. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G47kLtC1GjA

Here is a short video of the start of the show I found on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7obVy1YyTM

And for those who are not familiar with Rage ..Zach does a rant during every show, here is his Lolla rant, I must warn you that this is hardcore stuff, he says things you and I would get arrested for. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpXVN-Qfr2A

And the finale ...Me and Wifey

2. Cool pics. The RATM "reformation" has folks crazy at every venue.
We've been waiting for and needing them.

NIN was great the last time I saw them too.

5. I had no idea who Lupe was..
I was standing by the stage waiting for Rage. I wanted to be close and the only way was to plant myself there for 3 hours.

Anyway, Lupe came out to the Rocky theme and he started to do jumping jacks and push ups ..and then flat out dig a flip. The guy put on a great show .. Here is the flip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAON9f_Rad4

7. Nice pics!
My husband and I took our little brothers to see Rage back in the 90s and I must say that I have seen a lot of shows, but I was f'ing scared at that show. People took the fence down and set it on fire. I was just hoping that we got our little bros home alive. I love Rage and would see them again in a second, maybe not in the pit again though. I think we saw them in Hartford or New Haven.

Last time I went to Lollapalooza was at Rikers Island, I think it was 1996.
