Prayers and vibes for Bill Gwatney
Arkansas Democratic Party chair Bill Gwatney was shot and critically wounded at the party offices this afternoon. The shooter has apparently been killed by police, though details are still sketchy.

Let's send some of those Lounge vibes to Gwatney, his family, and Arkansas Democrats.

4. This is really unsettling
I've been in that building many times over the years. My wife's best friend is a very active LR Democrat, and she introduced me to many Dem activists during my time living in Arkansas.

5. When were you in Arkansas?
I lived there from 66-72 and again from 75-85, lived in Fayetteville. While in College I was an intern for Channel Five and spent a lot of time in Little Rock, in and around the capitol when the legislature was in session. Got to interview Governor Clinton a couple of times. We plan on visiting the Clinton Museum next year and spending a few nights in Eureka Springs.

6. I keep thinking about how Gwatney went to work yesterday...
...like any other day. Expecting to do his job and go home to his family afterwords. As part of his work, he met with a man who seemingly wanted to do volunteer work, as I'm sure he had met with others many times before. And then, for no reason at all, he was gunned down and gone in an instant. It's madness and I can't get my head around it. Again. It's sickening and heartbreaking.
