yeesh - when creepy people knock
Just had a knock on the front door - I'm just home and sitting down after a long day - and there's some 20something with an emptyheaded smile at my door. He mumbles something about how I must be the dad of the house, he's selling educational materials for preschoolers and we can just sit down over here on these rocking chairs while I look through his catalog.

"Actually, I'm not interested, but thanks."

He's already made himself comfy on my porch. "Oh, you don't *have* to buy anything."

"That's true, and we have all the materials we need. Thanks." Open the front door.

"Your neighbor over here was really nice, and I get credit when people look at the catalog."

"I'm sure you do, but I have something to do. Take care."

Left his ass sitting in the chair. Is it a new marketing tactic to do way too much research on homes in a neighborhood and then show up acting as if the homeowner has already agreed to look at your wares?
