Do the admins have to pay taxes on the funds raised from the fund drive?

They're an LLC, not a non-profit.

DU is an LLC, not a "charity" so to speak. I do believe anything raised would be counted as income, and therefore subject to taxation.

Still worth it, though.

3. I would imagine any net profit taken from the proceeds is taxable.

...as a company, they would be able to write off a certain amount of business expenses, i.e., operating costs.
