It can be movies, music, books, video games, etc. You can even break it down into parts: like favorite songwriters.

Here's a favorite music artist list from another thread. It is still not at all comprehensive, but was added to a bit:

Movie: I have to go with Superman The Movie, in my view it still is the best comic book movie ever, and definately the best creation story of a comic book superhero ever.

Music:Metallica...oh yeah baby! I can't wait until their new album comes out.

Books:hmm, its hard to say which book, so I'll go with an author instead, and its Mr. Stephen King

Video Game-The Tekken fighting game series.

4. Agreed about the Batman movies,
if I wasn't a biased Superman fan, I'd say Batman Begins was the best comic book flick(especially creation story wise)....

But, I am what I am....:D

Have you found any links to any new Metallica videos/music of their new Death Magnetic cd? I've poked around on youtube and there is a ton of fake vids...

:)

Like you, I could be here all night listing just music, so I'll skip genres within music and just list my favorites overall. I actually like a lot of normal stuff...but they won't make this list.

Nomeansno, The Melvins, Dead Kennedys, Sun City Girls, and Ed Hall. I have about 8000 more worthy bands and artists, but these five seem to be the most played and most appreciated over the years.

For movies it would be, in no order....

Miller's Crossing, Fletch, Snatch, Gojira (duh), Good Night and Good Luck, Tapeheads

And here's books...

The Years of Rice and Salt, and the Red/Green/Blue Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson
Fear And Loathing On The Campaign Trail '72 by Hunter S. Thompson
Bluebeard by Kurt Vonnegut
Let's Hear It For The Deaf Man by Ed McBain
The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie (yes, THAT Hugh Laurie...funniest book I've ever read even.)

Video games? Why yes, I play them.

Panzer General 1 & 2, Civilization 2, Final Fantasy VII, The Caeser/Pharaoh/Zeus city building games, Quake 2, System Shock 2 (scary game :scared: )

TV Shows even....

The Young Ones, Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Nova, Nature, Cracker (BBC version), Alexei Sayle's Stuff, A Bit of Fry and Laurie (yes, THAT Hugh Laurie again lol)

I have a big music list, but I detect a bit of a pattern in it. Do you agree?

17. Yes and no.
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 05:36 PM by Forkboy
I see a trend of liking bands that are somewhat on the outskirts of the mainstream without being way out there like what I'm into, a consistent indie rock/pop feel if you will. And a genuine open-mindedness to music overall. So in that regard, yes, there's a pattern.

But your tastes vary enough within that context, so no, there isn't a pattern.

Doesn't help at all, does it? :)

Though I know what you mean about me liking some of a lot of different types. I also think I am more open to pop music than some of DU, though my list has quite a few lesser knowns doing that kind. And that I like a lot of classic rock and classic rock-influenced stuff. :hi:
