I pissed off a "friend" tonight.
I say "friend" loosely, because she is really just someone I have to put up with to keep the peace among others.

She called during the Big Dawg speech tonight, and I asked my mother to answer it. When it turned out to be for me, I said tell her I'm watching the convention right now, and I'll get back to her tomorrow.

She was not happy about that. *sigh*

Oh well.

GOBAMA! :bounce:

1. Yeah, I suspected this would be boring.
I just have to be careful about how much I say, ya know? I think others I know are reading here ....

But I'll be Goddamned if I will ever apologize for being interested in politics, or for not having any patience for bigots who get all their info from Fox news. Fuck that.

2. Hey...
Sorry I didn't see this before!

I know that if I called and my friend were busy, I'd have no problem talking at a later time!

Unless it were an emergency or something truly urgent...

But a simple conversation?

Your friend needs to get over herself...

3. Thanks Peg.
:hi:

It's never been a secret that I am interested and keep up on politics, nor that I am a die hard Democrat.

I just have to laugh though. That someone felt so arrogant that their insignificant crap should be of higher significance than what is important to ME. Jeezus!

And being rude to my mother about it was absolutely uncalled for.

5. I don't feel the need to answer the phone either.
I'll just let it ring, or pick up and hang up right away without speaking.

My mother can't stand it though, so when she is around she must answer. It drives her nuts when I won't take the call or tell her to take a message.

I don't care. When I'm busy, I'm fuckin' busy! Phone doesn't dictate my life!

10. Yeah, most are solicitors or telemarketers. But I have a funny story about that.
This number from an actual person, Shirley ****, kept showing up on the caller ID, for over a year. I answered a couple times, because it was a real person. Turned out she had the wrong phone number. No problem.

Several months later, she called again, and I had forgotten her name. I had laryngitis, and she mentioned I must be sick with a cold or something, but continued to talk as if she knew me.

We talked for about 5 minutes, and she seemed to know me like we were the best of pals. And we proceeded to have a delightful conversation.

But, I kept thinking, who the hell is this? After about 5 minutes of camaraderie from her, I finally asked her, "Do I know you?" And if so, where from? I just couldn't place her??

She was so embarrassed, and apologized profusely that she had called the wrong number. LOL! And that she was thrown off with my laryngitis. That was several months ago.

Her number showed up on my caller ID again today. I'm half tempted to call her back and ask her how she is doing, LOL!

9. I just wanted to put 'PUMA!' in one of my posts...
and that seemed like the time to do it. Maybe it's lack of sleep, but I'm giggling like a little lamb.
