rough night at work and to top it off, at the last minute I found out that one of my co-workers (she works 3rd shift) lost everything to a fire last night. Electrical fire burned the place to the ground. They have four kids and no renter's insurance and the landlord did not have insurance either. She came to work tonight! But, she is still too traumatized. She started crying. At first she would not talk, finally she told me what happened. They lost everything. Red Cross has put them up in a motel for now. Their (Red Cross) funds are low. Anyway, I gave her a twenty spot and told her to get a few groceries. It was all I had on me at the moment. I wish there was more I could do. She left when I did. We all realized (and she did,too) that she was still too upset to work. I feel so bad for her.

I can't believe I just posted to that freeper in that thread. I ususally stay out of those.

Sorry about your co-worker. One of my co-workers ate some of that tainted food that's in all the news up here in Canada. 12 people have died of listeria poisoning. He bought a sub sandwich at Safeway that was part of the recall. He's already joined the class-action lawsuit.

Just when I think I have it rough, the universe has a way of showing me that there are others who have it tougher. Hope your co-worker is ok.
