Make me stop obsessively checking weather.com

My wedding date just snuck into the 10-day forecast... now i am obsessed!

Convince me that forecasts this far out are baloney and i should get some actual work done...

21. Really?
I guess it's about time to update a profile thar

I use the NOAA/NWS sites for all weather info. No ads, no "weathermen anchors" and so on :)

5. I just check the Weather Channel every couple of hours.
We won't know for a few days what will happen.

Can't do anything about it.

Just going to relax and enjoy the convention tonight.

6. Well, you guys along the gulf have bigger concerns than i do!

Nothing big headed towards the northeast - i'm just being a goofy bride. But i'd take a big fat downpour if it could somehow avert destruction down south.

Stay safe! Are you right on the coast? Planning to evacuate?

7. I am about 50 miles in land.
I am staying, my house was built for hurricanes.

That is how old houses down here were built.

I am getting ready just in case we get hit.

We will have guests coming over so we will have plenty of company including the furry kind.

By the time the hurricane gets to Houston, it should be blown out a little.

This isn't my first major hurricane.

11. Sure will.
We will lose power, that will not be fun.

The generator will keep the freezer cold, maybe a fan or two.

Every state has something that happens, we have hurrcicanes.

Besides, you can't control the weather, bridezilla. :hi:

24. Silly Gormy!
Sally won't be a bridezilla... she's gonna be a brideamander! :P

Different genus altogether - much cuter and friendlier, not at all carnivorous like those bridezillas. :scared:

The taxonomy of various brides is, alas, a sorely neglected area of modern science.

17. Instead, you should
obsessively check Weather Underground.

Weather.com is run by a right-winger who doesn't believe in global warming, and it's always wrong. WUnderground apparently has many more reporting stations, one of which is about half a mile from me, so when it's 102 here it doesn't say it's 84 like weather.com does.

26. Just heard a meterologist on the radio today
talking about the hurricanes. She said that 10-day forecasts were notoriously unreliable.

Are you having an outdoor wedding?

We got married on September 8- outdoors, with tents. It was the most gorgeous day ever- low 70s, bright blue skies. Hope you have the same luck!

30. That sounds lovely!

I hope we have something just like that. Yup, we'll be outdoors, but we have a tent for the reception and as a back-up location for the ceremony. Right now the forecast looks great, so i'm hoping it's reliable in this case. :D

Where was your wedding?
