God today was so SOOOOOOOOOOOO frikin hard.

the kids don't understand, they are hurting, they are angry and they miss her

I chucked my lesson plans for today and we just talked and hugged and I told them...I have been a kid and have a kid. There is NOTHING you could ever do or tell me to make me not love you the same. I also told them I have HUGE shoulders and big ears. Told them that they could come to me ANYTIME

I didn't know what else to say or do

I was just there for them. I gave countless hugs and tried to be a comfort as best as we could

i think you did very well with those kids

edit: is there any way, maybe next week, to have the kids draw pictures or make cards or write notes to the girl and her family? i think that would be good for the kids and that the family might appreciate it.

4. Fantastic. You did exactly what was needed.

No way could you do lessons as normal. Might not even be able to do lessons as normal tomorrow or "next time".

Plus comforting them will help you too. What goes around comes around.

All my best, Mark.
