DeSean Jackson--the Eagles player who showboated away a TD--did the same thing in college!!
ESPN just showed the clip from this:

"at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, where he caught seven balls for 141 yards and passed for a 45-yard touchdown in leading the West to a 35-3 victory in a game that featured 80 of the nation's top players. However, he was also involved in an embarrassing play where he attempted to somersault for a touchdown, but landed on the one yard line."

1. He'll be a great player when he grows up! Somersault to the one...
 At least in the pros he could still make that a TD.

I watched Jerry Rice once go to celebrate as he was running in, and he fumbled the ball just before the goalline, and out the back of the endzone. Lucky for him, the ref was trailing and didn't see it happen, and this was before replay. But I guess even the greats screw up sometimes.

2. Isn't the USAAA Bowl a high school competition?
Or am I thinking of something else?

Either way

3. Yes, it isn't college, it's high school.

4. I remember watching that game
At the time, Jackson hadn't committed to a school and was considering USC -- my alma mater -- and Cal. I was amazed at how good he was so I followed the name during recruiting. USC was getting everyone it wanted that year, and recently, but Jackson picked Cal.
