Chicagoland DU'ers: seek out this beer!!!


Full of dank, resinous, cannabis-tasting Alpha hops - this hop bomb runs a mean 11%. It packs it in the malt as well, but doesn't go oversweet - nor does it go over dry.

To me, this is almost the perfect Imperial IPA. Two things go against it: (1) It's $12.99 for a 22oz bottle. Sure there's a hop shortage and sure prices for everything are going up - but 12-fricken-99????

And for (2) - it is not consistent. Sometimes it is heaven's nectar. Sometimes it's just like any other Imperial IPA. For $12.99 I don't like those odds.

Problem is - it's based on its freshness. IPA's and IIPA's are not beers that age well. Well, they do - but they lose their hops - which is why I like them. After too long they become Barleywine.

But this is a nice, fresh bottle.
