Another "I had a sh*tty day" thread
And the moon isn't even full.

1. I woke up at 3:30 AM because my knee hurt.
2. I went to drop off Betaben at work. We pull out of the driveway, drive about 100 yards, and the cute little grey and white cat who's been visiting at our apartment window runs in front of the car. No time to swerve; we run over the kitty. I am devastated. And I don't know who his people are, so I can't even tell them we just killed their cat.
3. On the way back from dropping off Betaben I hit a raccoon. I drive about 2 miles an hour all the way home convinced that the next thing I hit will either be a person, a caribou, or an elephant. :scared:
4. I'm such a wreck from all the animal murdering this morning that when I get to work I sit in my office dying of heartburn. No students show up to my office hours. (This one can go in both the positive and negative columns.) I finally tell my supervisor that if one more thing gets dropped on my desk I am going to die of a nervous breakdown right there in his office. He agrees that I'm spread too thin this semester, then emails me more work.
5. At noon I decide I can't take it any more. I go home and take a nap. I wake up four hours later to aproximately 6 gazillion different emails from one student asking questions about the midterm I am giving tomorrow. Student has not shown up to any of my office hours this semester. I send student boilerplate message about study tips, good study habits, and "you'll do fine." Six gazillion times.
6. Betaben is at the Steeler game and will not be coming home tonight.
7. Just now, I check my email one last time before I go to bed (yeah, right) to make sure no more fires have lit in my absence. There is an email from a student saying a professor has scheduled a field trip simultaneously with my class's midterm. I phone the professor, get him out of bed (all the while apologizing profusely). Field trip is over TWO HOURS before the midterm. I email the student back and tell him "no dice."

I normally don't drink during the week, but I'm making an exception tonight.

GAAAAAAAA!!!!!! :banghead:

1. You really did have a shitty day!
The kitty thing must have really set it off, that's so sad! Your post was so very well-written, that even though the content was enough to give any sympathetic person (me, for one)a total nervous breakdown, that it was also quite entertaining.

Hope tomorrow is a better day for you. And, hell yeah, drink up, hunny!

2. I kept thinking I'd gotten it all out of the way early, and it just kept going.
I'd never hit an animal before, and in one hour I hit two.

I feel like such a shithead.

We need a :pout: smiley.
