Well, my little buddy is gone...

She went off to live in a new home with other critters and a caring herpetologist lady to take care of her. I could not stand leaving her home alone day after day while I went off to work. I had no idea how badly her absence would break my heart. I adopted her at a very low point in my life, a time shortly after I had been hospitalized for attempted suicide. At that time, I had felt a sense of responsibility for her, and it helped to curb my continued thoughts of doing myself in. In some way, she kept me going, maybe saved my life. After 7-1/2 years, it occurred to me that I've given her the best life I can, but she deserves better. So I made a really difficult decision to send her away. It always comforted me to know that she was there in her cage at night when the house is dead silent. Now the house is just that, dead silent. The place where there was a life is empty now.

So long Gwennie-Pooch, I will always love you...

1. Wow. You are a truly selfless person to do that for her.
Incredible to put her before you when you love her so much.

How about getting another pet? You seem like the kind of nice guy who should have a pet.

3. Meh, I may try to adopt a doggie someday...
It's just really hard for me to leave an animal alone. I'd want to bring a dog everywhere with me.

Thank You...

2. Awww...

Doing the right thing isn't always the easiest.

How are you? Still up in that county north of Columbus? I read about the fire on the south end. Lots of apartments damaged.

I'm trying to get back to Columbus. (long, long story) If you know anyone hiring accountants, PM me.

Good to see you back. :)

5. Hey lizzie!
I moved about a year ago to a town know in these parts as Westerville, (funny cause it's on the east side). Things were compounded by the departure of the girlfriend a couple of months ago. The house is so quiet and lonely that it creeps me out. I'll keep an eye out for you, I work at Ohio State University, you might want to check out what's available here. Nothing like a state job... PM me and I'll send you the link for the job postings...

7. I've got several applications in there
Can you send me a PM and let me know which department you're in?

Westerville's nice. Being outside the outerbelt is a pain on the north and east sides. Not sure where I'll live when I come back. Definitely not back in Delaware. Too many miles to drive.

:)

9. I used to take old 315
even the gridlock at 750 at the river was better than dealing with 23.

11. Ugh, it's all cluster now...
That whole north end is gridlock. They are building a "flyover" at 315 and 270. Gonna take years, and millions of dollars...
