I know I do. I make less and less sense the longer I stay awake. I'm trying to calm down.
Earlier, I went to the store. When I came home, I stopped and ogled my anoles. There are about 5 or 10 of them that I have to chase off the car before I can drive. Then, they get on the ramp and deck and sort of hang there upside down and look at me. I have always loved lizards, so I tend to spend a lot of time this time of year enjoying them before the real cold snaps come in and they go wherever lizards go in the winter...They go hibernate with the bears and snakes, I guess. I don't know. I just know I miss them during the cold weather.
While I was out there, the yellow jackets and other flying stinging biting things chowed down on an all you can eat Jama buffet. I'm all itchy and my skin is stinging on my arms and lower legs right now.
Today, the anoles were looking at me like I dress me funny or something. I think they were still miffed from the other day when I chased them all over the place to get them off the car so I could go get groceries.
I had an incident once where I was 12 miles from home on the way to the college and all of a sudden I noticed a lizard holding on for dear life. Here I was on the highway and even slowing down didn't save him. He fell off and I'm pretty sure he didn't make it through that fall. I was very sad about it too.
I have never forgotten it. Now, I check before I go. If they are there, I chase them from one side of the car to the other while they cut their eyes at me all miffed at me for aggravating them while they sunbath. I just don't want them to die.
Anyhow, I counted about 5 the other day and saw 3 today. It was still kind of early and the sun hadn't really heated up the rocks around the ramp and deck very much yet.
I'm going to bed soon, but not before I unwind a little. Let the silliness ensue. :P
