I'm back from the Obama rally in Leesburg!

Great crowd, rd jr and I had a super view, and we're excited that we were able to get in despite all the traffic. I wasn't fussy about the traffic because I was happy that there were so many people there. I took a few photos, but with just a regular digital camera, I'll have to see if I can zoom and tweak them without too much distortion.

But driving from Gaithersburg to Leesburg in Rush Hour was a bit too daunting.

2. Yeah, what normally would have taken me about 17 minutes

ended up being about an hour and 20 minutes, but it was worth it for rd jr to get to see him in person. We're already tryin' to figure out how we're gonna get to go to the inauguration! They say there were 35,000 people there. I bet there were more than that. They always underestimate the crowd size for us.

It was also a bit too late when I heard about it and with our workload we can't adjust that fast. Apparently my mom didn't go since I talked to her last night and she didn't say anything about it.

7. We were lucky

because we stood over to the side so rd jr was able to see better than if we'd gotten there earlier and down front. I was really glad to see all the license plates from WV and PA. Of course there were people from MD and DC too, but the WV and PA tags were a hopeful sign for me since the news keeps interviewing people from those two states that say they are not voting for Obama. There were also LOTS of young people and lots of older folks, and people from all walks of life. I don't want to jinx anything, but I'm optimistically hopeful! :hi:

That's obviously Obama, a shot of the crowd, me and rd jr, and Obama again. Yippee! He'll have great "show and tell" for his 8th grade civics class tomorrow! :woohoo:

Your pics turned out way better than mine. It looks like you had a great vantage point. I was really close but had too many tall guys in front of me. Somebody in GDP was asking if anyone had photos of today's events. I'll tell them to look here.

I'm very pleased that they came out this well with just a regular zoom on that little camera. Yeah, we heard on the way home that she is gonna be here. Gee, should you and I sit in all that traffic again and take our signs and go act like those goofball McLoser people did yesterday? Oh wait, I bet the traffic won't be like that for her... LOL!

So good to see you. I'm glad we got to go together again! Keep the phone lines open for me on election night!

I'm curious if people I know would be cheering at the hateful rhetoric. I don't think I could stomach it despite my curiosity. Maybe it's better not to know...

was SO excited! He's 13 and he is such an activist and we're SO proud of him! He reads a lot on DU... LOL! He's been exposed to probably more than a kid that age here, but he's an only child, and he's a lot more mature than his peers so I chalk it up to life lessons. :hi:
