Where do you live and what are you wearing? Ha! We're going into
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 11:15 PM by babylonsister
the 50s (no, not the decade, the temp for anyone confused) in the next day or so in Houston, TX, so inquiring minds want to know. I'm currently sleeveless to my knees thingy, are sweats in the program?

After heat and hurricanes, cool is nice!

2. England
Normal clothes, plus a hoodie and thick socks. It's cold as hell in my house all of the time. The guy who lives downstairs is a shit head, and doesn't realize that since he can turn the boiler on and off that it may not be warm up here when he's warm down there, or that I may in fact be home when he's gone.

3. Babylonsister sez: let him know, or punch him in the face if he doesn't
make it better.

That's unacceptable, but I know it happens. No, but if it's cold there now, it's going to get worse. That's what sucks.

5. I've tried to let him know in a polite way.
I can't really make enemies with the guy, because we're in the same department at the same university, so we see each other all of the time. He's another American who just moved here this year, so I helped him get this place to live and showed him around and things - generally trying to be a nice guy, especially since he and I have mutual friends from the US.

I think he's just a total fucking weirdo, and completely socially inept, which is saying something coming from me. For instance, I've gone down there to give him mail (all of the mail to the house goes through my door - fucked up, I know, but that's why the house is cheap), and mentioned that his apartment is incredibly warm, while mine is freezing, and that he controls the heat for the entire house. Has it not occurred to him that he could turn his radiator down so that the house warms up evenly? Probably not, and I guess I just have to tell him that.... seems quite awkward though. Right now it's fine, because I'm all for conserving energy and can put on extra clothes, but by December or January it will be too cold to live in here if he doesn't sort this shit out.

sleeved tee, one long sleeved tee, and one flannel-lined twill); two pair socks, slippers, one ratty old quilt, fingerless gloves and a fuzzy hat.
We haven't turned the furnace on yet. I might have to break down soon though; it's supposed to maybe snow tonight (lightly...)

Wearing a t-shirt, jammie bottoms, a sweater, and socks. It's a tad bit chilly here tonight, but today was an absolutely gorgeous day! Blue sky, leaves turning colors, and a hint of fall coolness in the air.

I have to throw some pants on in a minute to go get clothes out of the laundry room, but it was warm today so I'm kind of delaying that as long as I reasonably can.

why I'm still in bed content to stay here
until I have to go to work at 11:15.

Edited on Thu Oct-23-08 01:43 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
I am sitting here in the middle of a classic San Francisco summer, in one of my many Hawaiian print shirts, some jeans, and some flippies. :) Summers in SF don't really start until August, and then run through the end of October -- very nice, balmy weather -- mid-70s and bee-yoo-tee-ful blue skies!

I spent the weekend up in Lake Tahoe with Mom -- nothing but cold, cold, cold, lucky to crack 45 during the day. :(

I am m-u-c-h happier at home.
