My dogs disapprove of outdoor cats.
They pretty much ignore the cats when everyone is sitting around inside. Typically, Mary Jane (cat), Sapa (cat) and Guinness (idiot dog) will all be sleeping on my bed in the afternoon. Sometimes the cats cuddle up to Guinness.

If they see one of the cats trotting by in the distance while we're walking out back though, they want to run after it. I set my heels and we continue our walk with me telling the dogs that WE ARE NOT CHASING MARY JANE! When we get to where the cat was walking, they go nuts sniffing the ground.

1. Inside is YOUR territory -- outside is THEIR territory
Just one theory.

2. My cats also disapprove of outside cats.
They sit in the (enclosed) patio and snarl, then try to convince me that they, too, should go outside. Doesn't work, but they live in hope.

4. "Indoor cats" are just a step away from GPS kids and helicopter parents --
If you love somebody, set them free!

5. Mine too. Especially my 16-year-old female.
She yowls and hits the glass door when an intruder kitty comes around. I figure, hey, it's a hobby for her.

3. My dog killed an outdoor cat last summer. Then came inside and curled up to sleep with her bff Leon.
I was VERY upset. She--and the house cats--thought nothing of it.

8. before anyone gives me a hard time
I trapped Riff Raff as an injured feral stray and he never took to being a stay-at-home cat - after many heart attacks we have an agreement - he can go out (with shots, collar and microchip) during the day but must be in at night :D
