hey everybody, my pain pill has kicked in
I threw out my back last night (no not doing anything fun), but I thought that I had used up all of my older meds. Alas this afternoon I found half a bottle of Darvocet and a muscle relaxer. Those mixed with Dale's Pale Ale have made life possible again. Back injuries suck.

My Bulldogs just lost their footall game, but eh, I'm still good.

I just wanted to say, Hi Everybody

2. Please PLEASE be careful. Darvocet is dangerous.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11604116/from/RS.1/

All forms of propoxyphene (the active ingredient) can cause serious heart problems, and are not much better than plain Tylenol for relieving pain, based on 26 different studies done on the medication. Over 2000 people have died from taking propoxyphene--most from heart conditions like arrhythmia where there was no pre-existing defect. There is an effort to get propoxyphene banned in the United States--it's already banned in the UK as of 2005. But our FDA is slow to act, as usual.

Be very careful about taking Darvocet, Darvon, or any of the other brands or forms of propoxyphene.

7. I expressed my fear of addiction to the doctor at the pain clinic....
They're really strict about the meds. You have to give a urine sample every time you have an appointment, and if you have any pain meds left over, you have to give them to them. I told the doctor on a recent visit that I was a little worried about "going down a slippery slope" with the Percocet. He chuckled and said "most of my patients are taking about 40 mg. of Percocet". So I do feel a little better about it. That and the urine tests give me a safety net.

8. Your clinic sounds super responsible.
In the mid nineties after some heavy duty knee surgery at the V.A. they were practically giving me tubs of percocets. I was high for weeks. I didn't know how crappy it was going to be for me when I finally had to "kick". I didn't know I would have to kick, nobody had ever mentioned addiction.

Good times.
