Two weeks to the 25th. Time for the annual DU "least favorite holiday song" list...
I have two:

1) "The Twelve Days of Christmas"
This one drives me insane. Over, and over, and over... I'm ready to strangle someone by the time it ends. Over, and over, and over... And what's particularly annoying are instrumental arrangements, especially ones that give the "five gold(en) rings" to the brass section. Get it? "Gold" and "gold-colored brass?" Hahaha, those arrangers sure are clever!:eyes:

Over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over...

2) "Little Drummer Boy"
Another one that drones on way too long and sounds like a dirge. And I've yet to imagine an infant who will smile while you bang away on a drum while standing nearby...

Being a musician, I'd probably stand up and say something like, Hey fat kid, you're flat.

2. I hate any bad version of "O, Holy Night"
It's easily my favorite Chirstmas song when done properly, which is very rare, and there are so many awful versions, it drives me crazy. I was spoiled early on when an Opera singer performed this at Mightnight mass when I was growing up, it split my ears (in a good way) and my heart, one of the most touching Christmas moments I can remember. I wish I had a recording.

5. HARK! the Herald Angels Sing
I don't like the way they shout "HARK!"
