Anyone ever had rooibus (red tea)?
A parishioner gave me a gift basket with several types of tea. And yes, I didn't wait till Christmas. I'm out of tea, it's colder than KW's tit (or so I'm told), and I wanted to drink something hot. So, I made a cup of this stuff labeled "Red Tea (rooibus)". Trying to decide what I think. It's an interesting flavor. Rather like black tea, but with another flavor kind of layered in.

Have you ever had this stuff?

4. It's an interesting tea....
My ex MIL bought me tons of it because she was convinced that if I drank 4-6 cups a day, my fibromyalgia pains would subside. While it was very sweet of her to do, there is no way I could drink 4-6 cups of any tea every single day.

6. Interesting...
it's used in Africa as a folk-medicine for the treatment of chronic pain and stiffness from arthritis. I'm not sure what the connection could be between fibromyalgia and arthritis.

It's an exceptional source of antioxidants in any case.

7. Drink It Any Way
Rooibos contains rutin and quercetin both thought to protect the cardiovascular system. Also contains anti - oxidants which can help slow the aging process and boost the immune system.

10. I try to drink one cup a day, even that is too much for me...
I am not a big tea or coffee drinker - I usually just drink water.

5. Great stuff...
that "other flavor" is quite the bone of contention...differing batch-to-batch and by source-farm it has been described as everything from blueberries to lemons to vanilla to strawberries and cream. I taste lingonberries in the red tea we serve at work.

9. That's kind of how I'm feelin'. I'll use this that's been given to me,
but if I want a decaf tea, I think I'll stick with other herbal teas, chamomile, decaf black tea. Maybe this'll grow on me as I work my way through this box. But for now...meh.

14. I like it. Makes a nice iced tea, too. I hate tea, so I prefer herbal teas, anyway.
Tea has a nasty bitter taste to me that it can't have for other people, or they couldn't drink it. Sweetening it makes it worse.

15. Oh, yeah, lots of people have, Rooibus has been around for centuries.
I, too, am among those included the Venn diagram "people who have had Rooibus". I love it!
