How do you pamper yourself?
Edited on Wed Dec-17-08 11:20 AM by redqueen
I'm in need of pampering... so I'd like to hear how you do it so I can perhaps get some new techniques to try.

The things I like to do are:

- soak my feet and give myself a pedicure
- if I have a good book, put on some warm snuggly pajamas and cuddle up with the book and some hot cocoa
- just relax and listen to music on my mp3 player... this is very hard for me, i have to force myself to just do nothing but relax

Yeah, that's pretty much all I've got and it seems like a short list. So I obviously need suggestions. :)

Suggestions not requiring money or another person would be extra appreciated.

1. If I have the money...
If I have the money (not anytime recently, but it has happened a few times in the past coupla years...), I'll call a certified masseuse to come over and allow myself a 40 minute (sometimes 60-- I can be sooo decadent!) massage.

Man, oh man! Talk about an hour of sheer paradise. If you've got eighty bucks laying around, it THE THING to do!

4. For me it's always snuggling in and reading
Usually under my down throw in the winter with a favorite beverage handy and some sort of food treat, like chips or caramel corn. Just the luxury of relaxing does it, because it's so rare.

In summer, an uninterrupted three hours at the pool so I can swim, read, soak up some sun, and doze at various times. Mmmmm...that sounds awfully nice this snowy, frigid morning.

9. Workout 4:45am
It is my time and it makes me feel great even though I hate to do it sometimes. That is reality-

I would like to lash down numerous pints of Guinness every night, get a full body message for 1 1/2 hours everyday, then head home to watch Setanta sports on a 90" plasma TV but I haven't hit the lotto yet:)

12. There are just a few things.
- The comfort of quiet with CMW. When I was young, I thought quiet times in a relationship always meant something was wrong. I know now that it can be something much more, something really nice and comforting.
- An hour a day with The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger
- I used to get a massage with lovely "moon sage" oil once a month. WONDERFUL.
- Good coffee
- Good pens

It's nice to smell in the morning - I use an old-school mug and brush.

Plus you always have a gift you can ask for. They can pick the fragrances. I've gotten a couple nice ones.

Also, if you run out of gift ideas for a guy, chances are they don't have an old-school safety razor and an old-school mug and brush, so you can get them that.

16. A beer or two, or some similarly small amount of alcohol.
I don't drink very often, so when I do, it's a somewhat rare treat. It doesn't take much, either. :)

in the head, neck, chest, breast, and abdominal areas.

The pain takes my mind off my other problems.

It's easy, and it's fun!

I swear, you just can't find good help these days. I pay them a whole $0.10 above minimum wage, and they whine and grumble constantly.
