3. Holy shit
your name-- first and last initial is the exact same as the person I am thinking of losing. It's not you-- couldn't be-- but, how weird is that.

2. It's under privacy settings...
in the settings menu.

Just enter their name in the "Block Person" box and hit enter. They will never show up in your newsfeed or whatever and vice-versa. You can't see their profile and vice-versa.

5. Use the "block" function...
and they will not be able to see anything of what you are up to.

I did that to my ex-girlfriend.

6. Can they tell if you have done that?
Does it send them a message "you have been blocked?"

These are relatives I want to lose-- and I don't want them to know.

7. I'm sure it doesn't

it just stops them from seeing if you are attending certain events, and checking member lists to see if you are part of Facebook groups for instance. So if they are really looking for you they just won't find any trace of you. They might be able to deduce from that that you've blocked them if all of a sudden there is no trace of you though.

Is there a lot of contact between you and them on Facebook? if not then they are less likely to notice.
