I got the keys to my new abode today.

A friend is lending me the family car tomorrow so I can bring a few boxes over and start to take possession of the place. Tomorrow evening I'm going to toast the new year in my new kitchen, with the HEAT BLASTING, then walk home and check out DU.

I'm looking forward to it, the new year. You?

5. It's a small house, just a few blocks from this one.

It belongs to a divorced friend of mine who moved from this "fancy" neighborhood down there when she and her husband split up. She has always hated it here and so she finally moved down to Portland but can't sell her house, so I'm renting it with an option to buy. Recent financial developments have made it unlikely that I will buy it but in the meantime, it's in the neighborhood and it's a nice old house with a brand new kitchen.
