My sister used to date someone in the SS and he invited my folks to DC for GHWB's inauguration. There are so many inaugural balls and crap that you might as well throw your own at your house, that's how close you get to rubbing elbows with anyone. Means nothing, really.

I was a wee bit disappointed when I figured out it was a mass mailing. Oh well, it's the thought that counts. Since I didn't ASK for an invite, I should not be surprised at not getting one. Heh.
