Good economic news! Plant NOT closing!
There's a Tenneco (formerly Delco/Delphi, GM parts) plant here in my 'burb that employs a LOT of people around here, and there's been talk that the plant was going to shut down, especially given GM's dismal performance lately.

Word in the paper this morning was that it will remain open for the foreseeable future, and they are not planning to shut this plant. Whew!

If that plant closed, it would seriously fuck what's left of the local economy. The actual GM plant (truck assembly) shut down just before Christmas, so we're hanging on by the skin of our teeth here.
