Got laid off...should I go to DC for the inauguration festivities?
Well found out I have no work coming in. I was thinking of taking a trip to DC to visit my friend in Arlington and check out the inauguration...He doesn't have tickets but hell it'll be a party there regardless...so should I do it? I figure it's a once in a lifetime kinda thing....so why not right?

1. If you feel good enough about your finances to take a trip to DC then go
if not, you might want to think it over. You can see it a lot better on TV.

7. Mrs. Grumpy!
I hope you are doing well and I hope this new year will be better for you. I'm not in MI currently. I'm out in Portland OR which is a great place but unfortunately my job here was still automotive, so the company I'm with here has been hit hard. So I guess it would have been warmer to watch it on TV after all, assuming I stayed here. I heard it's quite cold back home this week....Oregon unfortunately in the top 5 states in terms of unemployment so I may end up coming home after all. I do miss my family friends out there and had a great time seeing everyone over the holidays.

I decided I will go to DC after all. I ordered a ticket for early tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to it. This is very exciting! I'll post photos from there!

Take care.

4. GO! no second thoughts
You have it already planned ( as in GET GAS AND GO!!)

Everybody will be psyched up and never again will you get the feeling of being lost in a sea of kindred spiritage

Two bottles of water, some venison, and a scarf.

GO!

5. If you have the chance, you should go.
I would guess your finance problems will be short term, and when they get better you will regret not going.

It is a once in a life thing.

If you do go, I hope you have fun, and can find good people to celebrate with :)

6. GO!
It's a once in a lifetime chance, I wish I could go. You'll have the rest of your life to deal with layoffs and financial problems, but this is a historic moment.

9. I wanted to let everyone I'll be taking a flight in just a few hours!
Everyone convinced me this is an event not to be missed. It'll be freeeeezing, but I'll bundle up!
