1. Uninstall WinZip, use 7-Zip.

Then somehow WinZip started opening them... now i can't figure out how i did it the old way. :(

but click on any folder -> tools -> folder options -> file types tab -> scroll to ZIP extension -> singleclick Zip to highlight it -> change button and look for "Compressed (zipped) Folder" and choose.

Like I said.. get a confirmation :D

17. on the rare occaision i encounter a zip file anymore, just dbl-click on it and windows un-zips it.
