The end of a thing is better than its beginning; and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. (Ecclesiastes 7:8)

In some Portuguese editions, that verse translates to Melhor é o fim das coisas do que o princípio delas; melhor é o paciente de espírito do que o altivo de espírito.

So, there was this car with a sticker on its read window: "MELHOR É O FIM DAS COISAS..." EDIT: on its own, it sounds like "What's better is the end of things..."

Without context, it looked like the person was one of those nutcases who roots for the end of the world. Not knowing the complete citation, that gave me the beejebies. After I looked it up, I'm willing to give that person the benefit of doubt. Maybe his intention IS urging people to be patient and diligent. Or maybe not.

Anyway, desiring the end of the world is evil. That will be all. Have a nice day.
