Poll question: To commemorate her death: FAVORITE SONG by PATSY CLINE?

For those who missed my posting earlier today, it's the 41st anniversary of the plane crash that killed country singers Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas, and Hawkshaw Hawkins. It happened in Camden, Tennessee, on March 5, 1963.

1. I remember sitting in the barber shop on Saturday mornings,
and her records would be playing on the radio. This was 1961-63. I would entertain myself while waiting, by looking at the pictures of John and Jackie in Look and Life. Very pleasant memories; makes me a bit misty.

2. Substitute The Word "You" With "Food" In All Of Her Songs
I go out walking, after midnight, searching for food.

... and I'm crazy for loving food.

7. And I always thought....
....we should find a way to use "I go out walkin' after midnight" for an SCA show. (If you think I mean Society for Creative Anachronism, think again!) (Hey, I've had to remember how to spell anachronism twice this evening!)

10. Food walks by, and I fall to pieces?
Well, why not?

3. Crazy is beautiful
I almost like the Willie Nelson version as much (if I'm not mistaken, I think he wrote it), but nothing compares to the way Patsy sang it. Amazingly beautiful.

6. You're not mistaken.
"Crazy" was the first big hit Willie Nelson wrote. Patsy was just starting out when she bought it off him.

13. Patsy nailed "Crazy" in one take when she recorded that song.

4. I hate, hate, hate country music but I do have Patsy Cline recordings.
Her and Lyle Lovett are amongst my favorites.

15. Lyle Lovett's mom was Mrs/Dr DemoTex's secretary in Houston ...
Late 70s. When DemoTex was working for Ken Lay.

9. Like Sinatra, Ella - she knew how to sing a song
I can't stand country music, but love Patsy Cline. She knew how to sing a song, a quality sadly lacking in this "American Idol" show off your pipes era.

12. God, yes.
especially terrible is hearing any of the "Idol" wannabes butcher a Patsy Kline tune.

Please, if you can't sing, don't choose a Patsy, Billie, Ella or Frank song.

11. ANYthing Patsy did was THE BEST!
This is one of those truly impossible-to-pick polls!

Patsy was just the absolute BEST. I get goosebumps (or should I say, I fall to pieces) just thinking any of her songs in my head.

Patsy Cline was way cool.
John
Polly says her favorite is "Walking After Midnight".
