I've got an injured doe in my backyard!
This morning as I was letting out my dogs for their morning ritual I was alarmed by their very loud barking. I called them and in and went to investigate. We live in a house that backs up to a rather large greenbelt. Anyway I expected to see a squirrel or some other animal but lo and behold it was a baby doe.

Her back leg is injured and she got into my backyard but cannot get out, we have an area that needs repairing, I think that's how she got in. I think she is young and maybe been separated from her mother??

I called the humane society and was referred to a deer rescue, they said they would be out soon. That was hours ago. I am sure she is thirsty, we haven't had rain in forever. I put out a big metal pail of water. She hasn't had any yet that I can tell.

She is frightened and I am losing it waiting for the deer rescue.

Happy sunday morning du.
