Ironically, my students consistently outscore district averages, even though I'm teaching non-honors classes at a "disadvantaged" school. Only thing I can figure is that my kids are so eager to get away from me that they study extra hard just to get out of the 10th grade.

..regarding your "tramp" comment to me tonight. It came at a very bad time. The only "incident" I ever remember having with you on DU, Bucky, is when you copied my pic from a pic thread and plastered it in a reply. Recently, though, I thought we'd resolved any differences. Well, I guess not. Honestly, the list of people who don't like me on DU is too long for me to keep track of any longer.

Still, though I'm sure you'll find this amusing too, your remark came at a very low time in my life. Very low. You don't know me... any more than I know you. You have no idea what I might be going through right now. And you'll never know how much that particular remark hurt. It wasn't funny to me. But I guess that doesn't matter as long as a person gets their laughs.

I just wanted to get that off my chest.... even though I'm sure it gave you some kind of sick rise to know how upset you made me tonight.

For what it's worth, until this last post, I thought you were playing with me the way I was playing with you--in a sort of dry "Dumb and Dumber" type of fake argument. I just read into your comments what my mood predisposed me to expect.

I certainly didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I assumed that me not knowing you from Eve pretty much negated any possibility of me sincerely calling anyone on line a tramp or any other serious insult. I was just being blind, I guess. Please feel free not to take anything I say seriously. I don't.
