Note to self: "Reply" and "Forward" are two entirely different functions on email.
Edited on Tue Mar-03-09 06:01 PM by Tommy_Carcetti
And if one per chance wishes to forward an email message from a rather unsavory and irritating person outside the office to someone within the office, and include within that forward a rather snarky and implied profanity directed towards that person, but instead of forwarding actually hits reply and sends said snarky and implied profanity back to the unsavory and irritating person who was the original sender of the message then.....that wouldn't be a good thing.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. I am so stupid. :banghead:

Although they still deserved it.

There are a LOT of people who have made that mistake. Welcome to the club. :hi:

2. Been there.
Done that.

Mine went something like, "can you believe how lazy this fucking XXXXX is?".

And with it comes that helpless feeling that after hitting "send", it is too late.

3. I did that the first week I was a city editor at a daily newspaper. I tried to forward an e-mail
from a flack to the managing editor saying, "This woman is totally on my case and wants an answer." Instead, I responded to the flack. She immediately wrote back and said "I'm sorry if I'm bothering you too much, but I do need an answer."

I called her immediately and apologized, explained I was new and wasn't sure what the answer was, and assured her I would pay attention to "reply" and "forward" from now on. She was very understanding; we were both just doing our jobs. But still, AWKWARD!

4. Yeah, I immediately apologized, too.
Although the relationship had long been ruined well before any of this occurred, so I was simply saying the unsaid.

5. Oh yeah. Miz t. pulled a classic.
The situation is complicated but she wrote a scathing 'get it off my chest' email to a relative.
Read it to me.
"OK, you're exactly right. She IS a stupid twit. And totally irresponsible and whiney. But you're not gonna really send that, are you?"
"No, of course not. I just needed to get it off my chest."
And then she mistakenly hit 'reply' instead of 'delete'.
Oh boy.
:-(

6. Well at least I feel better from everyone above that I'm not alone here.
Actually, other than this, it was a really good day, which explains the fact my boss didn't seem upset about any of this.
