I hate it when this happens. Is your house close to pedator area? Like coyote, fox, etc. Did you check the road?

Or something might have scared her. She may be in hiding. Or even trapped.

I hope she's safe.

Yes, we have some predators. She's not on the road. She's not in any of the nearby woods. I've been trying to call the neighbors to see if they've seen her, but no one is home.

I hope she's safe, too.

26. Not likely around here.
We're out in the country. People think nothing of seeing pets running around. And the shelters don't respond when you do call. I know because I tried it when a stray kitty was sleeping on our porch. (Yeah, we adopted him.)

34. I've had cats "adopt" me and my home twice...
...though I am not a "cat person." One was a Queen who found her way in to a warm spot (my chest) several winters ago. Another gave me a major mauling when her kitty she had here (my favorite tri-colored one) climbed into a squirrel cage fan in my room. We all survived it, though there was some question about me for a while.
The point of this rambling is she may have wandered into someone else's home.

39. Not Sheba.
She's extremely shy. She is more likely on an adventure. We will search all the neighbors' homes, though. ;)

The one who adopted us from our porch is the big one with Sheba in MissHC's pic. That's Sylvester and they're in love. :loveya:

That helps. I'm new at this game ... have only had indoor kitties before. This bunch is indoor except that we let them go out to play during the day. They're normally back inside by noon.

Thank you for the vibes. I will post an update as soon as there's something to post.

32. A question for you?
I hope I am correct, a while ago you had been inquiring about Great Pyrenees dogs? Did you ever get one? A neighbor down the road has one but late last year he died (the man who owned the dog), his son took over the farm but didn't keep the flock of birds that the dog protected. Now I see the dog wandering around looking somewhat lost about what to do. I always stop when I see him to say hi and give him a biscuit. He is friendly as can be and although I know he is being well cared for I feel sorry for him. He lost his owner & his flock shortly afterwords.

Hmmm ... don't remember, because I wasn't looking for one. But one found us and we have him. He's the sweetest dog! :loveya:

What a sad story. :( They do need a job. We have three smaller dogs that our Pyrenees guards. And, of course, he makes sure there are no intruders on the property. No one ever told us how much they bark!

50. They are sweet and the barking is part of the deal.
I knew there was some connection to you and those great dogs. I remember some sort of controversy about you leaving the dog outdoors where they WANT to be & other members here thinking it was cruel. (I used to post as "Wcross")

I am seriously considering taking one in some day, right now the six mutts that I have are enough.

Six mutts will keep you busy. When you get your GP, make sure you post lots of pics.

33. Yep.
Ginger disappeared one time and I finally found him cowering at the bottom of the village composting container -- after I'd walked around for about 12 hours looking calling for him and looking for him. A couple of wonderful farmers helped me open the back of the container (it's actually a semi-truck trailer) to free him. He raced home and hide under the bed for the _next_ 12 hours.

I think your girl will be coming home, gf.

37. He actually found ME!
I had walked past the container a dozen times, and on the last time, he cried so loudly and so distinctly Ginger-esque that I climbed up on the platform to take a look -- and there he was, buried under a bunch of mulch and palmetto fronds that the neighbors had dumped on top of him.

I do care, dear. Very, very much.

I don't think I could last. As it is, I haven't eaten today ... just too worried. Now I'm feeling hungry. :9

I wouldn't say Sheba sauntered. Something must have scared her and maybe she wandered a little too far away. Maybe?

79. Oh man, I so happy...
Edited on Wed Mar-11-09 09:03 PM by DeepBlueC
I hate the sick or missing animal threads so much but I HAVE to follow them. I know how upset I get when I can't locate one of my five for 30 minutes and overnight is just a sleepless hell. I just started with this one and predictably my stomach was getting all knotted up, but before I got to the end SHEBA HAD COME HOME and I got to rejoice after only minutes of angst. I know how relieved you must have been to see her running up into your arms...I have had that very experience and, oh, it is SO good.

I'm very very happy for you. OK I can go back to te Big East tournament now, unconflicted.

Is BEE-YOU-TEE-FUL kitty!!!

:hi: :D

84. Oh ... you thought maybe
it was Simon, the kitty on the right? Well, he did his thing the day before, but only stayed out until 7:00PM. He heard the dinner bell and came running. :loveya:

86. You haven't?
Um ... not sure when I took it, but I can find out. I didn't send that to you? There's another one similar to it, but different expressions on their faces. Here:

90. Oops!
 I wonder why it was in my photobucket? Normally I don't put pics in there just for fun.

Please forgive me. I promise not to withhold any more Simon pics.

and if I'd been there I would have helped you searching and calling for her. All I could do from here is sending vibes and support you mentally - as friends do
