I just got Butterfly Boucher's Flutterby, and it's wonderful! At least an A. Maren Ord's CD Waiting is very elegant and just as amazing. They both surpass the new Courtney Love CD, which I find solid but a little disappointing. It doesn't have the glorious pop/grunge of Celebrity Skin or the emotional power of Live Through This. I think the new Avril single "Don't Tell Me" is great as usual and I love Avril, but Butterfly Boucher is not just another Avril, and Maren Ord's not another Celine Dion. Butterfly plays lots of instruments and her sound is vibrant in that way. You'd be surprised at how classic-sounding Butterfly's ballads are. Maren's lyrics don't fall into cliche, and acoustic guitar is effectively used.
