O.K. who knows how to use the new Facebook?
As of yesterday it seems like they pretty much just turned it into twitter.

It used to be my news feed told me when someone added a person as a friend, posted new pictures, joined a group, became a fan of something, etc.

Now all the news feed posts is the status updates which are pretty much twitter feeds of people's random musings. Which if that was what I was interested in, I'd use twitter. Is there a way to set it back to the way it was?

I don't mind some status updates mixed in with all the other things, but if I'm going to use a social networking site I'd rather it give me a more well rounded picture of what people are doing rather than just letting me know that someone is proud of their kids, what their pithy thoughts are on the economy, or whether or not they're looking forward to eating chicken.

3. Yeah, exactly......I hate Twitter....
I don't mind status updates on facebook mixed in with everything else. But I really don't want nothing BUT posts about people's random thoughts and quotes or whatever.

4. It's not that I dislike Twitter
It's just that I don't see it as having anything over Facebook. Reducing Facebook down to status updates and posted items with little room for anything else is not the way forward.

5. Don't ask me. I can't figure out how to check for status updates
except for the fact that I get emails when someone comments. My 18yo couldn't figure that out, either, so methinks they realized the new version before it was ready, almost in beta.

JMHO.
