Suspected drunk driver rams home, exposes pot farm
03-23) 13:15 PDT SAN DIEGO (AP) --

Authorities said a 63-year-old man suspected of drunken driving crashed his pickup truck into a neighbor's house, leaving a gaping hole and revealing a small marijuana farm inside.

San Diego police got a search warrant after the Sunday afternoon crash and confiscated more than 20 pot plants from the house.

Police Sgt. David Jennings said no one was inside the house, and neighbors told officers the residents were gone on a ski trip.

No one was injured in the crash.

1. Damn, what bad luck that is.
Poor Mary Jane plants gonna get murdered. I always hate to see the murder of good, beautiful, innocent plants when they have so many good medicinal (and other) uses. :(

4. How the hell does one crash into a house???
Hitting another car on the road, maybe hitting a parked car if you're *really* plastered, but a house? And wouldn't most people already be unconscious at that BAC anyway?

5. Happens all the time over toward Charlotte and Gastonia.
We see images and video on the Charlotte news stations of cars crashed into houses at least once a month. We see them even more often in the summer for some odd reason.

8. I've known people who have done it and those who have been victims
Drunk falls asleep at wheel. Drunk stops at next immovable object in direct path. It's the age old love story about a man and his bottle.

15. Happened in my neighborhood last year.
Someone not DUI but traveling on an unfamiliar road at night managed to do it. She didn't realize that the road bent sharply and she drove straight into the house on the corner.
