Why are the sirens going off here? It's dark early, but I don't see any weather???

5. Well, it's storming and booming now. I've got the dog in.

The sirens stopped. I figure it's just a thunderstorm.

I've never lived anywhere where there were sirens for anything, so it sounds like a big deal to me. Even if you're used to them it's probably creepy.

6. It is sort of scary when those things go off.

I live in North Georgia in what is considered Hurricane Alley. Whenever there is bad weather, the tornado sirens go off. And they are quite close to my house. Totally freaks me out, as I have no where to run because I live in a mobile home.

7. It's gone now. But more are coming through tonight.

Ususally just a false alarm.

But I did grab the kid by the seat of his pants one night to get us under the basement door. The house and windows were rattling.

Power was out for 3 days, and my garage landed in my driveway. Whew!
