I Left My Heart in San Francisco
The loveliness of Paris
Seems somehow sadly gay
The glory that was Rome
Is of another day
I've been terribly alone
And forgotten in Manhattan
I'm going home to my city by the bay.

I left my heart in San Francisco
High on a hill, it calls to me.
To be where little cable cars
Climb halfway to the stars!
The morning fog may chill the air
I don't care!

My love waits there in San Francisco
Above the blue and windy sea
When I come home to you, San Francisco,
Your golden sun will shine for me!

I'm feeling rather sentimental this evening for my former home (San Jose actually, but I digress).

Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower, Lombard Street, Herb Caen - may he rest in peace, Castro Street, Scoma's, McCormick & Kuleto's, Union Square, Chinatown, the 'stick, China Basin, Alcatraz, War Memorial Opera House, Cable cars, North Beach, Ghiradelli Square, Golden Gate Park...

Any DUers who are residents of my favorite city in the US? Give me something...

1. We had an earthquake in San Jose this morning.
East San Jose. 4.6 was the preliminary reading.

Probably not what you were looking for, but I'll take it over tornadoes and hurricanes.

2. I left a lot of money in San Francisco
years ago, spent a week in the city, stayed with a friend on Fell St. Worth every penny. Hit all the expected spots and went to countless cafes and bars, spent a small fortune eating dinner at Empress of China on Grant Ave. Visited Chinatown, the Tenderloin, Castro, the Wharf, Coit, Golden Gate. I'll always remember the fast cab ride my pals and I took at 3 a.m.
