One reason I hate college...
You're told to write down a list regarding a class in high school you liked, 3 reasons why, and what you liked about the instructor...

You're also told to write a list of a class you hated most, 3 reasons why, and what you disliked about the instructor...

Then the instructor decides it would be great fun to have us all state out loud what we wrote down.

You know, a disclaimer would have been nice. I can't easily lie on the spot you know... How the frig do you tell 18 strangers about what the jocks did all the time... never mind being molested by the phy ed teacher...

I mean, I'll pity all the people who hated algebra because it was sooooooooooooooooo hard, but forgive me for not having a normal childhood... :eyes: Still, that's nothing compared to being the only one in class that can't stand "reality shows". That's worse.

The amount of shaking from all those delightful memories coming back to haunt me, it's a damn miracle I didn't die of a heart attack... not that I didn't want one at the time... I was VERY tempted to walk out of class and e-mail the instructor as to why, but I stayed the course.

For the final presentation at quarter's end, I might find a way to actually spill the guts. My past will not control me. I won't let it. I've let it do so. For too long.

Actually, I'm loving going back to school. I just didn't quite expected today's events to have happened...

1. They're called "ice-breakers"
in meeting lingo.

Just a way of finding ways to connect, that's all and maybe from the instructor's POV, something about what learning styles are present.

I hear though, about having to regurgitate high school.

2. That is correct; the goal was finding common denominators amongst us all.
Believer in dark humor as I am, it's still true we all disliked at least one of our teachers back in school...

I just get the award winning reason... :silly:

7. however
When I did attend college, it was an experience. Not much more than high school, but with my own place. I had already gone through my drug phase at that point anyway, so tit for tat, it was all good.

Sure, I met some hot college girls, but I had my Julsy in mind the whole time. All was well.

8. I agree.
If you're not comfortable talking about something, there's no law saying you must talk about it. Just come up with something realistic-sounding, and let it slide. :)
