what's the best commercial free, listener supported, indie, college radio

station in your area?

Either the wind is blowing the right way or WPRB Princeton boosted their signal because I'm picking them up really clearly.
It's a good thing because U. Penn's WXPN has been having their beg-a-thon, and they can get a bit commercial sounding
for commercial free.

I also love WFMU out of East Orange, N.J. but I have to listen online.

KEXP is the best radio station I've ever listened to. It's amazing. I highly highly recommend listening in.

4. WBER

It's got college students as DJs but also high schoolers, which is cool--it's great experience for them.

5. Centenary Radio
It used to be better, though. One of their main DJs left and started up homegrownradio.org, because the new management sucks.

6. WERS, Emerson College in Boston
Available online for your delectation:

WBRU (Brown University) in Providence is DQ'd because they have commercials.
But they were the very first college radio station (1936), and the music is great despite the ads.

10. It depends on what's considered a commercial

WXPN has their corporate sponsors and they run in house produced advertisements for them, but it's not like a Coors Light commercial.
probably a better definition of what qualifies is what WFMU calls freeform radio.
