1. We don't have them either.
We haven't had any television service since LyricKid was a toddler. I heard him mimicking commercials, and it made me sick, so Rhythm and I decided to just cancel service altogether. :)

2. I had an antenna, but when I had to get a converter box,
I just said screw it. There was never anything to watch anyways. I think I can feel brain cells coming back slowly as well!!

5. Our TV Is For DVD's Only
No cable, no dish, and we enjoy the luxury of picking, renting or buying exactly what we want to watch and when we want to watch them. We have none of those recording devices either. We choose mostly British sitcoms, mysteries as well as PBS documentaries etc. Inbetween there is music tolisten to or just the great out of doors ready to entertain us anytime we choose.

8. I admit to watching PBS documentaries online.
Nova and Frontline are interesting and are pretty much suitable for my child and I both.

6. I have neither and will have nothing after the change
I'm boycotting pay TV, so unless they add towers... I'm hosed and will get my news from DU and NPR :)

9. No cable here, and no missing it either.
I know how to watch any sporting event online for free, Nova and those shows are online as well, and I have stacks of DVDs and videos I can watch (lots of British comedy). I can't see paying for stuff I don't really care about.

And I mostly listen to music anyways. :)

11. Nope
I haven't had either for about six years, but the big outdoor antenna (with a rotor and a signal amplifier) does just fine — or, it used to before I moved behind the mountain that impedes the signals from the San Francisco stations. :(

12. I have Cable but would drop it in a minute if I could find an
antenna that I could put up myself. I wonder if any of you have an in-attic one and how is the reception? Would I have to string antenna wires all over where I now have cable wire?

Right now, I have the tail end of a promotion price for Cable and Internet. I'd like to drop Comcast all together but $$$ is a problem and I'll have to choose soon. I have the converter box. Verizon FIOS is coming soon but I don't think I can afford that either. Both providers are about $100.00 a month for basic C & I, plus in order to get MSNBC, you have to buy a higher tier offering. Out of my league with just Social Security. I don't much care for most of the programming I get now but am told that you get more channels with just an antenna. True?

But my telly is only used for weekend DVD's. The rest of the time, it sits unplugged in the corner under a dust cloth.

It's become more of a decoration that useful device. I occasionally use it with my dvd player to play cd's that my stereo won't read.

24. Nope.
We dropped our cable about three years ago. Don't miss at all. When we hear the buzz about a good series, we rent the DVDs from Netflix. For a third of what we were paying for cable, we can watch all the TV we care to and, oh yeah, no freakin' ads.

no television at all than ever give them another cent.
