I Need Help With Some Heavy Lifting. Why Do I Feel So Ashamed?
Tomorrow, I will be picking up a large projection TV from my mother in law's house and delivering to my home a couple miles away. I also need to move my large TV from our living room to our basement.
Every day I drive by a group of Mexican immigrants waiting for someone to hire them for day labor.
I know these guys need the cash. I'm willing to pay it. It's not illegal. But I still feel bad about the whole thing for some reason.
How much would you pay someone to help with this kind of work?
2. I'd pay two guys, about $12-15 each (less than an hour of work?)

I paid a young man who sold a 180lb. SONY TV to my son $10.00 to help my son carry it down 3 flights of stairs. I probably would have dropped it, or had to go to the chiropractor!
this is going to take at most an hour, right? $10 an hour is very reasonable for day labor 20 each for the job is going to fine. And they can always say no. But that is good - I wouldn't go any higher unless you have something else to do.
16. When I hire guys for only an hour's work, I'm pretty generous
I consider the fact that I may be taking them away from getting a day's work, so I give them $20 to $40 each for short term work. If it's a day's work, I give them $12 to $15 an hour.
